Into His Mind

I would steal into his mind … and know its deep dark corners … the cold steel he wields at sunset … the dread terror of his nightmares … the balled fist that cries for justice … the hardened will that cannot yield …

And other dark places too … those better lights held in repose … notes of childlike laughter … the joys he delights in … pieces of memories … each one sublime … a shard of life’s crystal …

Also his worlds of sorrow … rivers and oceans and seas of tears … ever held at bay …

His bright morning star …

I would steal into his mind … through this crack … this tiny foothold … there to see my own path … my way … my hope …

And his …

Every new corner a familiar feel … cold … empty … defeated … lost …

Comforted … cared for … protected … redeemed …

Every darkness a way forward … through the soul we see … what the eyes cannot …

I would steal into his mind … and stay … this is a darkness I know … a light I share …

A wilderness home …
